Batik Artist

My images often tell a story about places and people doing things.  I am inspired by subjects that have interesting colours, shapes, composition, textures and other design elements.  For years I taught design, drawing and textiles design.  Batik has been a favourite medium, integrating my training in painting and print-making.  I even studied batik in Indonesia (few Canadians, but many painters internationally, still work with the medium).  I am fascinated by the variety of charming places on Gabriola Island as well as subjects from my international travels.
