Saturday Art Stall

GAC Presents the Saturday Art Stall at Folklife Village. The Saturday Art Stall provides opportunities for artists to profile and sell their work. The Stall, which is located in Folklife Village throughout July and August, features two different artists each Saturday. Over the last three years the Stall has become a real Island landmark, a source of information, a gossip corner and of course an opportunity to purchase a little piece of Gabriola. The stall open from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm or later.

July 24: Bob Weenk and Elizabeth Shefrin will be featured.
July 31: Dianna Bonder and Julie Sperber will be featured.
August 7: Kimm and Joke and Anita Jackel-Deggan will be featured.
August 14: Sheila Norgate and Melinda Wild will be featured.

Friday Summer Art Tours

Free, self-directed tours of home-based studios, on Friday afternoons from 1 to 4. The artists open in the summer are listed in the Studio Tour brochure, which also advertises the grand weekend of art tours--Thanksgiving (Oct. 9 to 11) when all the artists listed are open from 10- to 4. Gabriola Theatre Festival

The Gabriola Theatre Festival proudly announces its 2010 Festival line-up! After a hugely successful inaugural Festival in 2009, we’re back with a program that’s even bigger and better!

Watch for the huge Festival Tent to reappear at Folklife Village from Friday, August 20th through Sunday, August 22nd.
With 12 plays, two days of StreetArt, a Kids’ Corner, a full line-up on the Outdoor Stage and the famous Lions’ Pancake Breakfast, our 2010 program promises a fabulous weekend that offers something for every member of the family.
Tickets are on sale now at the Artworks coffee bar (cash or cheque only) and via PayPal on the website. Tickets will also be available from the Festival Kiosk in Folklife Village beginning on July 1st.
This year, we’re offering two ticket packages: the Evening Extravaganza package admits you to the 4 evening shows while the Binge Bundle package will get you into 8 fantastic shows. A limited number of these packages is available.
The Gabriola Theatre Festival invites each and every one of you to join us in a summer celebration of theatre and the arts on our lovely Isle of the Arts. Last year, many of our shows sold out, so don’t be disappointed – get your tickets early!

Back by popular demand!
More than 50 local artists and artisans sell their creations in a lively outdoor art market on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of August 2010.
Street Art (a two day celebration of Gabriola’s visual artists) is located on Lochinvar Lane, Gabriola, just by Folklife Village. The market opens at 10.00 am and goes on until 2.00 each day.
Thanksgiving Studio Tour

A free, self-directed tour of 41 studios, featuring 50+ artists. Studios are open from 10 to 4, Sat. to Mon., Oct. 9 to 11, 2010.
