Gabriola Arts Council Theme Show

Every year, the Gabriola Arts Council hosts a community art show that is open to people of all ages and abilities. The show is non-juried and includes work in any medium. To help inspire people, make it fun, and provide some cohesion, we base each show on a different theme. Previous themes have been teapots, wild Gabriola, hats & shoes, mask, poetry and heart. Interpreting the theme is up to the artist; it can simply be a departure point for their imagination.

Gabriola Artworks at Folklife Village donates their gallery space to display all the entries. The exhibit usually runs for 10 days in late April or early May.

Our 2003 show included many imaginative entries based on the theme of "EGG". Three very popular pieces are featured here. Tammy Hudgeon's glass work received the Peoples Choice award, voted on by visitors to the exhibit.
